The bucket hat

Many have attempted, few have been successful. The bucket hat is one of the toughest looks to pull off and Coach Mario did it with ease. It was his trademark.

To honor Mario’s memory, Illinois Premier will be placing the Premier bucket hat on the back of our jerseys. We hope this display serves as a reminder to us all of the joy that Coach Mario brought to this game and organization. We know he will be with each and every one of us this season.

Announcing the Mario Ortiz Scholarship Fund 

This fund will be the starting point for current and future high school students to receive a college scholarship in his name.
